Get 12 testers for Google Play closed testing by testing each other's apps

Get it on Google Play

Testo is a credit-based co-op app where Android developers test each other's apps to meet Google Play's closed testing requirement for personal developer accounts created after November 13, 2023: at least 12 testers opted in for the last 14 days in a row. No money changes hands; you earn credits by finishing other developers' tests and spend them to recruit testers for your own app. Testo is made by MINI CODE STUDIO (작은코드공방).

What the closed testing requirement is

  • Who: personal Google Play developer accounts created after November 13, 2023 (organization accounts are exempt)
  • What: a closed test with at least 12 testers who have stayed opted in for the last 14 days in a row before you can apply for production access
  • Why it's hard: friends and forum swaps often drop off within days, and paid tester services cost money and may include accounts that never use your app

FAQ

Who has to meet the 12 testers, 14 days requirement?

Personal Google Play developer accounts created after November 13, 2023. You need at least 12 testers opted in to a closed test for the last 14 days in a row before applying for production access. Organization accounts are exempt.

Is Testo free?

Yes. Testo has no payments and is funded by ads. Credits only work inside the app and have no cash value.

How do I earn credits?

You get 12 when you sign up, 1 for each 14-day test you finish, and 2 for watching a rewarded ad once every 24 hours. Registering an app places 12 credits in escrow.

What's the difference between the Google Group and email methods?

With a Google Group you register the group in Play Console once and testers join it themselves. With an email list you add every tester's email in Play Console and tap "Registered" in Testo each time.

What happens if a tester quits?

Another tester can take the open slot. Testers who quit after the start screenshot are recorded as not finishing, which lowers their tier completion rate. No credits are deducted.

What are the verification deadlines?

The start screenshot is due within 2 days of the later of the test start date and the time you were added in Play Console. The final screenshot is due within 2 days after the test ends.

What if my app doesn't fill up?

If you cancel or recruiting ends, credits for unfilled slots are refunded.

Does Testo guarantee production access?

No. Testo connects developers but can't guarantee how many testers join or how fast. Google decides on production access based on your testing and your application answers.

Does it work for iOS apps?

No. Testo is an Android app for Google Play closed testing only.
